Brittany Camping Week
Magdalen Court
School
Letters
relating to Brittany Camping Week
The school organises a
trip to Carantec, Brittany each summer at the end of June. We stay at a
wonderful 5* campsite on the coast at the Carantec pernisula.
Activities:
These will depend
on the weather & other factors. The days start early & finish late, we try
to cram as much in to our stay as possible, & it has the advantage that
tiered children get up to less mischief!. We will be cooking a number of
traditional Breton dishes; Moules Marinière, Gallettes, Crêpes,
Langoustines, artichokes are a few of the dishes on offer.
- Costal walks,
the coast line is astounding.
- Walk to one of
the islands close by, across a cause-way. It has a traditional old
Breton fishing village & chapel.
- Local towns:
Carantec, Morlaix, Roscoff (often overlooked but very beautiful)
- Aquarium at
Roscoff (wet weather activity).
- Day trip to
the Rose Granite Coast
- Gaulish
Village, run by the French Scouts
-
Planetarium
-
Spectacular cove, with its own warm microclimate
- Traditional
French market
- Sea kayaking
trip, weather allowing.
-
Sailing/windsurfing afternoon, weather allowing, led by French
instructors.
- Swimming in
the sea.
