As part of our 'creative curriculum' the children have been studying the topic ‘Water, Water Everywhere’. The topic has included focusing on the worrying levels of plastic pollution in our rivers and oceans. It was suggested by one pupil, William, that we should contribute our help along our own patch of coastline, and so the topic was discussed between students and teachers and a beach clean at Shaldon was planned.
On April 2nd the children enjoyed a very successful morning down on Sheldon beach in which they worked extremely hard as a team, helping one another clean up all the litter they found. After several hours of hard work, the children enjoyed a well-deserved hot drink whilst admiring the Devonshire coastline which was now being left beautifully clean and safe for wildlife, thanks to the children’s hard work and efforts. Good work everyone!
