Grafitti Art Exhibition

On Wednesday Mr Jenner and Mr Ford took a group of children to the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracy where they had the opportunity to see their own beautifully made jewellery on display.

The group were excited to see much loved silversmith Jamie Inglis, who spent time last term teaching them the skills and helping them work on their pieces and Anna Trussler of the guild.

Anna recounted to the children how many people visiting the Guild shop had been asking to buy the jewellery, which caused great delight amongst the group. ‘I wouldn’t sell my necklace for £1000,’ said one student and quite right too. They are absolutely priceless!

Anna then gave the children a tour of the current exhibition, Masters of Invention, where they saw the work of a variety of 3D graffiti artists and had time to create their own piece of 3D art to attach to the wall of the studio space. As many of the children have been studying Graffiti Art with Mr Dooley this term it was a fantastic chance for them to see the range of materials a graffiti artist can use. Everyone was amazed by the price tags on the art! The wooden piece with the little drawers was a great hit and a group favourite.

In a photographic exhibit they saw how one artist had drawn sketches of seaweed under water using specialist board and pens. These were on display alongside her finished pieces.
