Wild Swimming & Camp

Pond Dipping Collage2

It's the busiest time of year for the Department of Adventure! Throughout the last two weeks Mr Jenner has been busy taking the different key stage groups out wild swimming and pond dipping. The swimming trips were at a mix of coastal and river locations (at Brampford Speke) and lots of interesting wildlife was found during both the pond dipping and swimming adventure afternoons including dragonfly larvae and newts. The children enjoyed paddle boarding too!

On top of the adventure afternoons Mr Jenner ran a series of camps last week with a varying level of challenge. The little ones went for a day, then there was an overnight camp for those wanting more of a taste and finally a two night challenge camp for the adventurous. All took place at Lady' s Mile in Dawlish with the last group cycling there and back from Exeter!

The children enjoyed building fires, cooking smores, swimming with inflatables in the pool (which has a very cool slide that they could take their rings down) crabbing, jellyfish spotting, jumping in the canal, kayaking, fish and chips, putting up and taking down the tents, camping, a night expedition and so much more. The weather was gorgeous which meant lots of water gun battles and ice lollies! Mr Jenner also set up a unicycle challenge and a paddle board balance challenge which involved a lot of wet water fun.
