Over the years I have worked at MCS, I have been privileged to be part of so many success stories.
What makes my job so rewarding is that whatever challenges our pupils face when they first come to us, they leave us as confident, independent young people. No two children are the same and at Magdalen Court we do not teach solely to exams but also invest in transformational learning through a wide variety of activities and adventure where the level of challenge progresses at a comfortable degree for the individual child.
The pastoral care is apparent from the moment you walk through the door. Our pupils feel nurtured and supported through their entire time with us. We’re a small school with big ideas, a team of dedicated staff whose shared belief is that pupils can achieve a great deal if they are understood, can develop a positive mindset and are enjoying their school experience.
School leavers have gone on to undertake apprenticeships or further their studies, some becoming university graduates, doctors and teachers. Whatever they have gone on to achieve however, I know that they have all taken away a happy school experience, precious memories and the skills to create a successful life for themselves, something the team here are proud to be a part of.

Headteacher
Magdalen Court School was established in 1990 in Southlands House, Heavitree by Jacqui Jenner who originally ran a very successful dance school. It quickly outgrew the large manor house and moved to its current site in Victoria Park Road in 1997.
It is very much a family-run school. Mrs Jenner still welcomes every child and parent with a smile each morning. One of her sons John Jenner who has performed many roles throughout the years is our Head of Adventure, organising a superb timetable of outward bounds and extra-curricular activities for the children as well as being the school’s ICT support. John's own children attended the school.
Mrs Sarah Wrightson (our current Headteacher) joined the school back in those early days alongside Mr Bushrod (Assistant Head) with both teacher’s children having been educated at Magdalen Court.
Staff motivation and retention levels are high due to the happy and caring environment the team have built and most staff choose to educate their own children at the school. This provides children with consistency and a welcoming place where everyone enjoys their day.
The school is run by a proprietorial board which is made up of Mrs Jenner's three sons: John J.C. Jenner BEd. James W.C. Jenner LLB Hons and Jeff M.A. Jenner LLB Hons.
