It is important to note that league tables only measure the results in Years 10-11 and so do not wholly reflect the success of our students as those who took exams at a younger age are not included in the survey.
In addition to this, if a pupil gains a 'B' at GCSE in Year 9 but moves out of the area we lose his result. Also, more commonly, if we take in someone who has been struggling and who repeats Year 10 or Year 11 or takes a restricted number of GCSE's then our league table percentages appear to suffer significantly. As most parents don't move their children to us in Year 10 or 11 if they are achieving well in their current school this is a considerable factor.
