The day commences with registration all together at 8.50, with a short, whole school assembly Wednesdays and a celebratory assembly on a Friday morning.
Students are organised into smaller tutor groups, named after trees.
The groups give the children a closer connection to one main member of staff and are a good way to get to know some of the others they might not normally talk to at break time, broadening their friendship circles. A lot of thought has gone in to grouping the children with others we feel they can bond with.
The morning tutorials are informal and may involve games and quizzes, explain upcoming opportunities and allow time to chat. We hope that this system helps our new students settle in as well as strengthening the sense of belonging in all of the children.

Each morning has 2 sessions where the more academic work is achieved when everyone is fresh and focused.
These are split by a 20 minute break, when children can go outdoors to the adventure playground, play on the astro or stay indoors and do jigsaws and games.
Currently pupils bring their own packed lunches and eat together in the lunch hall. We are able however to heat pre-prepared meals brought in by parents in our kitchen for those that do not like a packed lunch.
Each group meets again after lunch for DEAR (drop everything and read) which lasts 20 minutes.
The afternoon is also made up of two sessions split by a 20 minute break. Many schools do not offer an afternoon break but we encourage our pupils to move about and have some fresh air where possible. Afternoons run between 1.05 and 15.50 and are often more practical. Once a week each class is taken out in the minibus for an adventure session. Art, cookery and DT are also typically an afternoon lesson.
Students return to their tutor group classroom at the end of the school day.
Most children are collected at 15.50.
After school clubs run until 16.50.
